Battlefield 3

So while testing some things out in Battlefield 3, I decided to try and put something together in the short term, not story driven but just something that would be very very cool to watch.  So I did, and the results can be found in the Film Streams Section.

Or you can just watch it here!

Skyrim

So one thing that many may know, some may not, I started making Machine Based Cinema (Machinima) about 10+ years ago.  Actually, probably more like 13 years ago but just because I wanted to experiment.  It turned into a hobby of mine where I was actually able to make some money to fund this expensive hobby.

The last couple of years opportunity and changes in the market have made it unrealistic to make that a full time gig.  As much as I would love making Video Game movies, technology limitations for creating them has been very limited.  I’m not sure why exactly because it literally is an untapped market.

Skyrim

Be that as it may, there was one game which I would have LOVED to have been able to create in.  Skyrim from Bethesda Softworks.  Without giving to much away, I am working on something.  I conducted some tests to literally check function over feasibility within the game engine.  I can say that some of the Mod communities creations have been pretty amazing.  If you can’t rely on a game studio to create the options for you, well you can bet your ass some gamer will.  Some of the brightest most intelligent people I have ever met.  That’s PC guys, not Mac guys and surely not console bunnies.  Sorry if you were just offended there but I hate playing anything online via console because of the kiddy play.  Therefore I don’t but I digress…

After reviewing some mods, I decided to run a test and what a grand test it was.  If you are a film maker, what you see you will understand.  If you are a gamer, you probably will to.  If you are just a fan of games, you may or may not get it.  If you play console only and have no creativity, you will not understand.  That said, enjoy….

How to Deliver your Own Baby!

baby

The Title says it all.  Without going into all the nitty gritty details of childbirth, I can say this, it was not supposed to happen this way.

My wife started having contractions which were becoming stronger, closer to the 5 minute time-frame in between contractions so that you know, it’s time to go in the hospital.  However, when you go from 8 to 7, to 6, to 4, to 2 minutes all within about a 20 minute time-frame, there’s not much that you can do…  well, not much you can do except deliver your child who refuses to stay in the womb…

This is what happened with my wife and I last night…  At about 1:50, Lily crowned and I dialed 911.  After I grabbed some towels, the babies head was all the way out at this time but was blue/purple and wasn’t breathing.  So of course I was  a bit rattled and reached in to ensure the umbilical cord was not choking her etc..  It was at this time when I told Charisa, (who was a true Spartan Woman), she gave a solid push while I pulled a bit and out came my daughter..  the fruit of my loins in the palms of my hands 🙂

She wasn’t breathing or moving and was somewhat lifeless, so I flipped her over gently on her stomach in my hand and started rubbing her back.  She coughed up a bit and just “Came to life” and started crying.  The only thing I had was a day old dirty T-shirt to wipe her down with and the 911 person stayed online with us until Paramedics arrived, about 10 minutes later.

It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done and was just absolutely incredible that I can’t even put it into words what I’m feeling right now other than shock and complete joy that my wife and daughter are doing great..  I personally need quite a few drinks.  Just wanted to share.

Despondent Update

We are working diligently to really tighten up the movie. I have been doing what is necessary to accomplish the best look and feel for each individual shot. I’ll have a full count for the compositing work per scene. Let’s just say each scene has had some work to it. Challenging, but great fun.

I’ll try and keep up withe the website. It was not functioning correctly for the last several weeks.

Check out the Despondent Preview after the jump…bottom of the page.
